Create and manage your in-story identities. You need at least one character to join a roleplay.

Characters are your in-story identities. You need at least one to join a roleplay. When you apply, you choose which character (or characters, if the roleplay allows multiple) to use. Once a character is in a roleplay, it can be locked for that story.

To create a new character, click the Play button in the header and select New Character.

Creating a character

Use Create character to add a new character. You can set:

  • Image — Profile image for the character.
  • Name, age, gender — Basic identity.
  • Description — Short summary of the character.
  • Traits — Traits such as skills, species or behavior.
  • Attributes — Any extra info you want to give.

Managing characters

Your characters are listed on the Characters page or the Homepage. Change description and info cards anytime; core details such as (name, image, age, gender, birthday, traits, attributes) are locked when the character is in a roleplay to ensure consistency.

If you need to edit the character you can remove it from a roleplay, make your changes and join again.

Locked character

Once a character is used in a roleplay, it will be locked. Core details (name, image, age, gender, birthday, traits, and attributes) are locked to keep the story consistent. You can still edit your character’s description and info cards. Lock applies only for that roleplay; you can still edit the character for others or before and after. When you join, you’ll see a lock icon if character lock applies.

Using a character in a roleplay

To join a roleplay from the roleplay page:

  1. Look for a fitting Roleplay and click Join.
  2. Choose a character (or more than one if the roleplay allows).
  3. Submit. If the roleplay requires approval, a moderator will approve or reject your application. Otherwise you may join right away (or as the roleplay’s rules say).

After you’re in, that character is used for your posts in that roleplay’s conversations.
